Hey – we're
Sam & Esther

Esther

A little bit about me - I'm Robyn Esther (Esther is my middle name, I prefer it to Robyn). I was born in Southsea but I grew up in Croyde Bay, North Devon, then spent a couple of years at college in Bristol, and ended up back in Hampshire, where I met Sam.
I love to bake, snuggle up on the sofa watching Christmas movies in the middle of summer, and go for walks anywhere near the sea, which usually ends up with me swimming in it.
My journey into filmmaking started as a teenager, where I used to create fun movie projects with friends, which eventually evolved into cinematic videos of our family holidays and memorable events.
What I love about filmmaking is telling stories, capturing the essence of an event, and making sure every frame is full of personality. I aim to transport you back to the day, to make you feel the warmth of the people, hear their laughter, imagine the flavours, and even smell the fragrances (though I'm still waiting patiently for smell-o-vision to become a reality).

My snapshot: I was born in Surrey and moved to Hampshire when I was 8, where I learnt to play a piano and operate a camera, and it’s been a war between the two ever since!
I decided to train in music composition, thinking I would be the next Hans Zimmer. Inevitably, that failed, and so I went on to work in finance. But photography was always calling to me, and after I met and married Esther, we convinced each other one day, over a donut milkshake in our favourite café, that we should 'just go for it'. And now here we are! It was a great milkshake.
My hobby is to flit between hobbies. I’ve tried cycling, baking, book binding, learning Italian, candle making, writing, painting, cooking, and I even tried Physics once (I got a U). But generally, If I’m not behind a lens, I tend to be playing football, exploring, or watching films and documentaries.
Photographing a wedding is a challenge that I absolutely love. From getting a clear understanding of your vision for the day and the story there is to be told, to capturing those fleeting moments of laughter and love or reflection and joy, I'm there for it.
